Broke up because of age-gap? Why did it bother him?

I dated a guy for about 2 months and we definitely had “chemistry”. I am in college, 5 years younger than he. He got very distant and I asked him if he still has feelings for me. He didn’t answer my question, but he did tell me that he can’t see me as a serious partner due to the age gap. He expressed hesitancy with the age gap since the beginning and tried to get over it. I really liked him, and he really liked me but he said that he felt like he would be holding me back from dating other men in college if we continued to date and make things official. I will continue my life, currently trying to get over my feelings. My question is: when I am out of college, older, and ready to date, is there a possibility that he will come back?
