I have read on a number of articles about online dating that it is a red flag when a guy on a dating site gives you his phone number really quickly.
I back off when I come across guys like this.
The problem is, just about every guy I match with on dating sites and start a conversation with are giving me their phone numbers when we have barely said hi to each other. They ask me to text them.
Am I right in believing that this is a bad omen when it comes to online dating?
Please explain this behavior.

Yes, it’s a bad omen when a guy gives out his phone number that quickly. He is doing it for hookups.
A guy who wants a serious relationship normally takes the time to get to know the girl better.
This helps him get a better understanding about whether they would be a good match before even considering the possibility of giving out his phone number.
