My Last Goodbye at Work. Facebook Friends.

Why didn’t he respond to me when I confessed I liked him as we said Goodbye? He left first but came back and said he forgot his keys. I was in shock from the likely rejection – it must’ve shown because he didn’t stay behind like he seemed to and just left without a word. He seemed chappy when he came back to get his keys, was that a positive indication? Later that night I added him on Facebook (he said it was okay to) but when I messaged him, he replied and ended the conversation in one whole message. I felt rejected and upset after he did the same thing at the second attempt. It brought to front all these small hurts from our time at work and thought what is the point of being online friends? So I unfriended him and blocked him so I could move on. That was a couple months ago and it’s not the case anymore, help.
