Hi there,

I need advice on my relationship with a guy. He invited me on a date (however we previously named it as catchup)in which he was pretty talkative and interested in my life, activities and interests. But on texting I never feel the same..he never initiates convo and gives quick and short responses to whatever I ask about. I know that he is a busy person but I am not sure if he replies me out of just politeness…

Hi Katy,

If he never initiates conversation or gives quick and short responses to your texts, there is a good chance that the feeling isn’t mutual.

If he was truly interested, he would have set up a more official date with you after that “catchup” date.

He may not have found the kind of connection that he was looking for on that “catchup” date. So yes, there is a good chance that he is only responding to your messages out of politeness.
