Why is he suddenly quiet around me?

My crush is a confident and outgoing person but whenever I turn up, he suddenly goes quiet. He can talk to people just fine but when I talk to him, there’s an awkward silence I don’t know what to do. We used to talk casually but now we’re a bit quiet around each other despite seeing each other everyday. I’ve seen him glance at me (probably to see if I’m looking at him) but quickly turns away when I look at him. I’m wondering if I made him angry. (sorry if this was too long to read)
